DJ Crankit’s love of music from all genres combined with his appreciation of beats both classic and cutting-edge date back to age eight, when he discovered vinyl records in his fathers collection. In his teenage years he visited record stores and studied the backs of vinyl sleeves he came across of his favorite songs. At just the age of fourteen he saved up his own funds and purchased his first turntable and mixer, and DJ Crankit was born.
He played school functions, house parties, friends’ birthdays, then by the age of eighteen, the VIP backroom of The Emerald Ballroom in Mt. Clemens he met a mixer-master that taught him much more. As time went on, he expanded his network of like-minded music enthusiasts and frequently emersed himself into nearby Detroit City Motown hotspots and nightclubs. During one such time, he meet several corporate real estate business owners from Florida who invited him south to the Miami and Florida Keys ares to mix beats in their clubs, and the rest is history.
Fast forward, and through the years DJ Crankit has created music playlists tracks professionally in various cities throughout the US in many nightclubs, and corporate venues, including numerous hotspot Islands in the Caribbean. He is truly an innovator of combining old school rock with modern day hip-hop, so people ‘hear and feel' music beats like they never have before.
DJ Crankit is the culmination genius of a lifetime of deejaying while observing people's reactions on what makes people move to his beats. Like his approach to deejaying, Crankit’s approach to each venue is played out in his head, moment-to-moment, before he ever plays the first beat at an event.
